Administration Offices
Reflecting the Championship status of the San Antonio Spurs and the unique culture of the team's fans, Kell Muñoz Architects designed the Spurs Administrative Offices to both impress and delight. The firm provided complete programming, design, construction administration, FF&E and art consultation services for the project.
When designing the project, the Kell Muñoz placed critical emphasis on office planning in an effort to efficiently utilize the space available in the difficult areas tucked under the arena's risers. In addition, the Spur's corporate image was a key design parameter. The office's approach corridor creates anticipation by utilizing materials in the team's silver and black colors, and leads to a reception rotunda decorated with upholstered leather and copper ceilings that evoke the basketball heritage of the organization.
In addition, tooled leather doors with the Spurs' corporate logo lead to a limestone and slate gallery that displays themed artwork in stainless steel niches. The executive offices are directly linked to the gallery and are fronted on courtyard views. In the executive offices, floating silver screens provide both privacy and views for executive assistants. At the gallery's end, silver hojalata hammered metal doors lead to a multimedia presentation room with arched, meshed, floating ceiling panels suspended over custom designed stainless steel conference tables.
Throughout all office spaces, architecturally treated concrete is left exposed and floating ceiling panels tucked into beam spaces maximize both the height of the open plan office space and the penetration of exterior light. In addition, Kell Muñoz Architects' FF&E design services carefully integrated workstations with both departmental needs and interior architecture.
