Engineering Building

Kell Muñoz Architects' master planning of this project involved the conceptual design of a three-story building with lecture halls, classrooms, laboratory space, faculty offices, and research spaces designed in the existing campus architectural style. The master planning also involved a new plan for the eastern section of this 70 year old campus. The firm's professional services included the completion of a space-needs assessment of the University's academic program for Baccalaureate Degrees in Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering followed by all architectural project services from design through construction.

Kell Muñoz Architects plan for the building was to create a strong sense of place when establishing a new engineering school. The Firm's design captures and accentuates the strength of the South Texas sun with the shade and shadows of the building's articulated masonry skin and the quality of the building's interior light.
