Brownsville Master Plan

Kell Muñoz Architects is a member of the design team that will produce a Master Plan for the City of Brownsville, Texas. Brownsville is the oldest city in the Rio Grande Valley and is noted for its quality inventory of historic properties. Brownsville is also the Rio Grande Valley's most urban city and Resaca's are abundant throughout Brownsville providing a unique setting for both open space and development.

The planning issues for this project are challenging yet compelling and the firm will focus its work on urban design, cultural resources and historic preservation in an effort to spur community revitalization and economic development. For this master planning project, Kell Muñoz will work with HNTB and Ambiotec Civil Engineering Group and will use a team approach that emphasizes public participation. The firm plans for a November 2005 start and anticipates that work on the City of Brownsville's master plan will be completed within 8 months.
